Palace at the Castle: The Tempest

Join the Palace Theatre team in the stunning grounds of Newark Castle this summer as they transport the magic of the stage to this wonderful historic setting. Enjoy the sunshine as you settle on your blankets and escape to lands of imagination from Wonderland to Mole and Ratty’s idyllic river and even period drama heaven in 18th century England.
In this Shakespearean tale, perfect for a summer evening, the mystical Prospero conjures a storm and torments the survivors of a shipwreck, including his treacherous brother Antonio, slave Caliban whose wish for freedom is thwarted by spirit-servant Ariel, and Ferdinand who falls in love with Prospero’s daughter Miranda. Folksy’s wonderful production is filled with live music, colourful characters, enchantment and a little touch of magic.
