Robin Hood Festival 2022: Let the jousting commence

July 23, 2022 - July 25, 2022

IT’S BACK!

The much-loved Robin Hood Festival is taking place this summer at Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve over seven weekends from 16th July to 29th August.

As well as offering the ever-popular all-action medieval jousting displays, they’re set to be invaded by Vikings too!

There will be historical re-enactments from across the Middle Ages, and this year, Sherwood will be the venue for the county’s Nottinghamshire Day celebrations on 27th August.

There will be arena shows, performance, music, comedy, stalls, games and activities, including archery (of course) and each weekend has a different theme.

Weekend Two is all action with the fabulous Knights Of Nottingham, who will be putting on a dazzling Robin Hood-themed show on Saturday and Sunday.

Magician Nathaniel Bagshot will have you mesmerised with his tricks and conjuring, and circus performer Helter Skelter will be greeting our visitors and mingling with the crowds.

There’ll be storytelling harking back to the days of Robin Hood from Robert of Wentbridge, while the Wythe Retinue will provide a fascinating recreation of life in the Middle Ages.

If it all sounds like it’s all under control, don’t worry. The hilarious Medieval Maniax return on Sunday and Monday to cause comedy chaos.

Please remember to check the latest COVID-19 guidance before attending any event and contact the event organiser should you need any further information on the COVID-secure measures that will be put in place. Newark & Sherwood District Council is not in a position to confirm that the events advertised are Covid-19 Secure.
