Robin Hood Festival 2022: Step back in time

July 29, 2022 - August 1, 2022

IT’S BACK!

The much-loved Robin Hood Festival is taking place this summer at Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve over seven weekends from 16th July to 29th August.

As well as offering the ever-popular all-action medieval jousting displays, they’re set to be invaded by Vikings too!

There will be historical re-enactments from across the Middle Ages, and this year, Sherwood will be the venue for the county’s Nottinghamshire Day celebrations on 27th August.

There will be arena shows, performance, music, comedy, stalls, games and activities, including archery (of course) and each weekend has a different theme.

By popular demand, things are toned down for weekend three for a few days of quiet enjoyment of the forest.

But there’ll still be plenty of action with their Medieval Sports Day for those with an insatiable competitive streak, no matter what period of history it is!

They’ll have the Lord Thomas Stanley Retinue here, bringing the Tudor period to life in their brilliantly-observed and well-armed encampment.

There will be trails and bug hunts too for families to do.

Please remember to check the latest COVID-19 guidance before attending any event and contact the event organiser should you need any further information on the COVID-secure measures that will be put in place. Newark & Sherwood District Council is not in a position to confirm that the events advertised are Covid-19 Secure.
