You may feel like we’re a little early (we know we’re posting this even before the 5thNovember) but Christmas is a mere 7 weeks away and therefore it’s time to begin getting into the Christmas spirit.

Rufford Abbey Country Park Christmas Weekends

Rufford Abbey Country Park looks beautiful all year round but especially so when all dressed up for Christmas! Therefore, why not head over for their Christmas weekends in November? Get into the festive spirit with their Christmas Food, Drink and Craft Market, where you can pick up a scrumptious bite to eat, taste their very own special mulled wine and hot chocolate as well as perhaps pick out a Christmas present for a loved one (or a little treat for yourself). There will be entertainment, the beautiful grounds themselves including their fantastic Adventure Park as well the potential to meet the big man himself, Santa Claus…
Newark Christmas Lights Switch On
24th November | 10:00am – 5:30pm | FREE
Newark will light up on the 24th November with their brilliant annual lights switch on event. Head to Newark town centre to enjoy a bustling craft and charity market in the market place and Buttermarket alongside a funfair and live music. This all leads up to the main event: the switching on of the UK’s largest, freestanding canopy of Christmas lights, followed by a spectacular fireworks display!

Carriages is a beautiful, Victorian styled café located at Newark Castle train station. On the 23rd November the café are bringing together a mix of stall holders to offer you unique and beautiful handmade products – perhaps pick up something for a Christmas present or even a little something for you, you’ve deserved it! There will also be delicious food and drink, including mulled wine, snowball hot chocolates, pork and turkey hot roast cobs – it doesn’t get much better than that does it?!

Southwell Late Night Christmas Shopping Event

Mooch around the beautiful town of Southwell on this late night Christmas event. Southwell is home to over 50 independent shops, and on the 29th November enjoy all they have to offer from beautiful clothes to home furnishings and everything in between, as they open later in the evening for you to grab some beautiful Christmas gifts. There will also be a Christmas market, carol singing, the lights switch on and other festive activities.

Make the task of Christmas shopping a treat as Newark’s charming Georgian marketplace again plays host to a pair of traditional festive markets. Held under the town’s glittering canopy of Christmas lights, there’ll be a fantastic array of last minute gifts, artisan crafts and Christmas decorations on offer. Shop to your heart’s content with the sound of carol singing and seasonal entertainment filling the marketplace with festive cheer.
Newark Christmas Market and Winter Feast

Ease yourself into the festive mood with a Santa’s sack full of seasonal festive street food, drinks, crafts and gifts in Newark’s stunning and picturesque Georgian Market Place. There’ll be entertainment for all ages, including traditional carol singing and brass bands, fantastic local musicians and street entertainers plus the Newark Santa Sprint where local athletic Santa’s will take to the streets competing to see who is the fastest Santa in town! All under Newark’s magnificent curtain of Christmas lights, now regarded as the largest such display in the UK.
