Dead Monk Talking: The Death of Bad King John

This Halloween, enter the Castle’s creepy undercroft to hear from the ghost of the monk who tried, and failed, to save the life of Bad King John.
You’ll then be able to explore the tower and get close to the very space where the King breathed his last breath on a dark, stormy night in 1216.

Family-friendly performances will be every half hour from 11am, with the last at 2.30pm. This event is free to attend and we ask that you arrive 10 minutes before your chosen performance, bearing in mind that we have limited seating in place. We also request that, where possible, visitors wear a face mask when indoors.
