Free family-friendly workshop: Exploring Jewish Culture through Art

October 27 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Event Series Event Series (See All)
Free

Painting helped Holocaust survivor Stanislaw Brunstein to cope with sadness and loss. His vibrant and expressive works reflect a journey of healing through art. They celebrate the rich spirit of Jewish life in Poland’s towns and villages (shtetls) before WWII.

Come as a family and explore his paintings with our curator through a variety of activities. Delve into the customs and traditions of Jewish communities. Hear the beauty of Yiddish, engage with objects of Jewish tradition, and experience the colours and sounds of Jewish life.

Reflect on the powerful themes within the paintings and express your own creativity by designing a personal artwork as a response at the end of the session.

This event is free, but please consider donating!

Sessions are available at both 11:00-12:15 and 13:00-14:15
