Hands On History

Travel with us, back in time to early history in and around Collingham. With Collingham and District Local History Society.

10:30 am – 11:30 am Time Travel Tots
Stories and play to learn about Pre History, Saxons and Romans. For children aged 5 and under.

11:30 am – 12:30 pm Make your own Mammoth
Have a go at making your own Woolly Mammoth, for children aged 5 and over.

1 pm – 2 pm Friendship Bracelet
Design your own friendship bracelet, for children aged 5 and over.

2 pm – 3:30 pm Roman Pots
Create and decorate your own Roman pot to take home, for children aged 5 and over.

During the day there will be live weaving and spinning demonstrations and a replica loom from this time period by the Notts and District Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers.

There will be time to enjoy colouring in activity sheets, guessing mystery historical objects and homemade cakes and drinks will also be available.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.
