Southwell

Southwell Trails

Southwell is a beautiful, picturesque town with stunning scenery, so why not explore the ‘Jewel in Nottinghamshire’s crown’ with one of the various trails in and around Southwell? Different abilities and ages were thought about when creating these trails, so we know you’ll be able to find one suitable for you and your family. And now with the cafes and shops open, you can enjoy a little wander around town before or after your trail.

Sherwood Forest

This summer why not explore the beautiful ancient woodland at Sherwood Forest? Whilst the Visitor Centre remains closed, you can still discover the legends, wildlife and history that make this forest special. We’d recommend having a look at some of their trails on their website, all varying in distance, they are the perfect way to explore the forest. You can also grab a bite to eat from the catering van, located at the amphitheatre.

Sherwood Pines

If you’d like a more adventurous day out, head to Sherwood Pines. Grab your comfy walking boots, or attach your bike to the back of your car (or hire a bike there at the Bike Hire shop) and head to this section of the forest to experience a high action day out. Additionally you can explore the very tops of the treetops at Go Ape which is located on the site.

With acres of unspoilt, beautiful countryside it’s a top spot to spend an hour to two in the fresh air, letting your hair down and connecting with nature. You can take their circular walk of the estate, or get off the beaten track and follow one of their trails. Their lovely lawns are available for you to play on and perhaps have a picnic in the summer sunshine.
